got here was the second hottest day of the summer... Which I suppose
is good because that means it won't get much hotter than this. I'm not
sure if the weather is getting cooler or we're just getting used to
it. Either way, it's not as bad as it was. Palampur is supposed to be
cooler, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. (we leave on
Sunday). I'm just trying to make the best of Delhi while we're here.
that means shopping and site seeing and generally staying busy.
Our schedule is pretty regular. I wake up around 4 or 5 in the morning
and kind of just lay in a puddle of my own sweat (Jk... That only
happened once...). My sleeping pattern is pretty irregular, Which I
hope will be fixed asap. Breakfast is 8:30 and we go upstairs and eat
together in the family's dining room. "class" starts at 10. We learned
some Hindi and alot about the culture and sites of the area. After
class ends at 2ish we have lunch. After that we have free time until
dinner at 7.
The food is really good. All veg stuff which I don't really mind. I do
anticipate some hardcore chicken cravings on my immediate future
though. Mostly it's roti (bread). And/or rice with some type of lentil
or bean and a vegetable. Our host priyya is a wonderful cook.
During our free time we usually go walking around town and shopping in
the markets. The prices here are pretty good. It's about 47 rupees to
the dollar. They definitely try to rip tourists off though. Ruhi and I
were discussing this bracelet I really liked in English. The owner
said it was 600 rupees. We were shocked and ruhi tried to bargain in
Hindi but dude wouldn't budge. We went down the street and homie was
selling the exact same bracelets for 175. Ughhh. But it's what I
expected. Oh and I rode in an auto rickshaw for the first time. Very
exciting :) it took us (3 people) 40 rupees to get to the market...
Not bad.
Hmmmm... Breakfast is in an hour and currently we have no running
water in the flat. I have a feeling it's going to be an interesting
morning...
Stay cool y'all!

Lol, I wish America had markets and bargained. Lool, the jacking up the price reminds me of Africa. Hah!
Umm, I bet you're going inihilate some chicken when you get some lmao. Veggie stuff is cool too though. Is it better than the veggie Indian food on the cruise? lol
